Silence Can Be The Answer!

Topic: Silence Can Be The Answer!
Text: 1 Samuel 10: 27

But some troublemakers said, “How can this fellow save us?” They despised him and brought him no gifts. But Saul kept silent. Amen

The tongue is part of the body that aids us to chew, swallow, taste and speak. “The tongue is also a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. (James 3: 6)

This shows how useful, yet dangerous the tongue can be depending on how we handle it. We need to be so careful about the utterances we make especially when we are angry or disappointed since words spoken can leave lasting effects on our hearers.

There are 3 ways to respond to a questions: the use of signs and gestures, to give a verbal or remain silent.

Sometimes the best answer is to remain silent. Especially when the question is rhetorical, insulting or full of envy. Also, we must remain silent at questions we perceive to be traps, otherwise our own words will carry us away.

When the bus conductor or the passenger sitting by you offends you, ignore them. Don’t ask if they know who you are, it doesn’t matter. Obviously they don’t and do not even care who you are or will ever be. Ignore them, remain silent.

Remember that the opinion others bear against us can not ever change what God has ordained for our lives. However, the words that come out of us can block the blessings of God coming your way. So don’t let people provoke you to use words that can block your blessings.

Pray now for a discerning heart so that you will know when and whom to answer verbally or with silence. Kindly click, watch and be blessed: https://youtu.be/ljnAhavb09c
