Music: A Tool For Worship

Today’s Devotion
Topic: Music: A Tool For Worship
Text: Daniel 3: 5

As soon as you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. Amen

It has been argued that music is the food of the soul, apparently due to its universal appeal. It combines vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion. It is the best tool to induce worship.

Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, ninety feet high and nine feet wide, and set it up in the plain of Dura. He summoned all his officials to come to the dedication of the image. The issued ORDER: “as soon as you hear the music, you MUST fall down and worship the image of gold.”

Beloved, THERE IS AN “ORDER” ON EVERY SONG YOU LISTEN TO, GOSPEL OR SECULAR, TO COMPEL YOU TO WORSHIP THE LORD OR THE WORLD.

Now we can argue all day about how some of these “secular” songs are embedded with lyrics that are full of wisdom and universal truth. In as much as that may be the case, let us not also forget that, the spirit to which the music is dedicated, plus the spiritual orientation of the musician him/her self also go a long way to influence the allegiance of the listener to a deity.

i. SPIRIT TO WHICH MUSIC IS DEDICATED TO: Almost all musicians dedicate their works to a deity and place an “ORDER” on the song to compel each listener to do what the song is intended. The music must compel your dance, enjoyment, satisfaction and above all, your worship of that same deity the music is dedicated to.

Songs about sex, drugs, violence, social vices and alcohol has an “order” to compel its listeners to worship the prince of this world (satan) by engaging in sex, drugs, violence, etc.

Christian songs are SUPPOSED to carry an order (or an anointing) to induce godly worship in the hearts of listeners. It is meant to draw attention on God in everyway until all mankind see Him as He is and and Him worship as we ought.

ii. THE SPIRITUAL ORIENTATION OF THE MUSICIAN: What the musician stands for or believes in adds to the factors that influence the listeners to either the things of God or the things of the world.

Once a musician, Christian or secular, becomes popular, it is the life he/she lives (not just their music) that influences others. For instance, whenever a Christian musician lives a life contrary to the bible, he/she has unconsciously become an ambassador for the “prince of this world” to mislead people from the TRUTH they preach.

Child of God, it’s about time we admitted the fact that, music is very powerful to draw us towards God or the world. Listen to songs that compel the worship of JEHOVAH! Otherwise, these other songs will continue to influence your thinking until you are in full agreement with the world.

REMEMBER THERE IS AN “ORDER” on every song to compel your allegiance to a deity. Make that wise decision TODAY, to listen only to songs that glorify God and edify your soul! Begin to pray now! Kindly click, watch and be blessed: https://youtu.be/jIZhlXDMAYc
