Acknowledge God!

Today’s Devotion
Topic: Acknowledge God!
Text: Proverbs 3: 6

In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Amen

Each one of us has at one point in time given God some deadline regarding a thing or two we wanted Him to do for us. Most unfortunate though is also the reality that, many of us are yet to perfect the art of hearing from God. Invariably, what we get is a bunch impatient believers who can not even tell what God is saying about their request.

Many a-times, our actions after prayers demonstrate our lack of patience in waiting on God for the very things we ask for. The anxieties of life make many feel God does not answer prayers or even if He does, requires forever to do so. Job helps answer this question when he asks, “Why do you complain to him that he answers none of man’s words? For God does speak–now one way, now another–though man may not perceive it.”(Job 33:13-14)

So Yes! God speaks one way or the other. It is not always audible. Proverbs 3: 5- 6 teaches us four (4) very practical steps we can take to constantly remain in the WILL of God for our lives even if we have not developed the art of hearing Him audibly:

i. To trust in the Lord with all our hearts: This is where we make God the center of our lives and decision-making because we know He is more than able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than we can imagine.

ii. Lean not on our own understanding: We must realize our limitations in knowledge and wisdom. It doesn’t matter our status and position in life, we don’t know it all. He alone is Omniscient!

iii. In all our ways, we are to acknowledge God: This is where we pray about everything and everyone that surrounds us. After prayers, we must be careful to live by His WORD! God will always honour His Word!

iv. God will direct our paths: He actually orders our circumstances (our paths) to be laid out properly before us. The circumstances may be either good or bad, but all things will certainly work together for our good.

As we commence a new month today, begin to pray into the days and weeks ahead. Place your life in His hands, and let the Lord have His way. Also pray for all WORKERS AROUND THE GLOBE- MORE STRENGTH FOR THEIR EVERY TASK. Pray with the hymn: ‘Captain of Israel’s Host and Guide of all who seek the land above.’ Happy May Day To Us All.
