Omnipresent God

Today’s Devotion
Topic: Omnipresent God (Self Assessment)

It is a wonderful Saturday morning and we want to zoom straight into our weekly bible study. Read the passage below and share with us the revelations the Holy Spirit gives you.

Text: Psalm 139: 7- 12

7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? 8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,”12 even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. Amen

Questions

  1. Hebrews 4:13 says, “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account”. What does it mean to say God is both Omnipresent & Omniscient?
  2. If we agree that God is everywhere, why do we complain that He’s far away?
  3. According to Isaiah 59: 1-3, what are some of the factors that make God appear far from us?
  4. If God is indeed everywhere and knows everything, why then do we sin right before His eyes and pretend we did nothing wrong?
  5. What does the author of the book of Hebrews mean by saying, “everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account?”
  6. What have you learnt from today’s discussion? What will be your message of hope to any believer who feels lonely?
