Text: Hebrews 9:27 (NKJV)

27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment. Amen.

In academia, it is expected that each student passes all prerequisites before he or she is allowed to graduate. In this day and age, there are countless examining bodies that award professional certificates for the several disciplines in academia.

However, not everybody is able to get things right at the first attempt. Many will attest to the fact that, they had to write some examinations a few more times before meeting the expected grade for graduation.

Several factors may have contributed to the situation. For some, it was the wrong attitude towards studies (including laziness and procrastination), to some, external factors beyond their control. And yet to some more, genuine challenges relating understanding and answering the set questions for that particular exam.

Whichever way we excuse for the student, one thing remains clear; the standards
for the examinations is never lowered to suit an individual’s circumstance. The only way out for those whose circumstance didn’t favour them in an exam, is to provide opportunities for resits untill they can pass.

Unfortunately, when it comes to living, every man lives just once. We write “the exam of life” just once. There are no resits. “It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment”.(Hebrews 9:27)

Sadly, we sometimes live our lives by turning a blind eye to this truth; the fact that God will judge every man according to his deeds. And that those who miss heaven, will not escape hell.

The good news however, is that, God does not take pleasure in anyone perishing. “Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord God, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live? – Ezekiel 18 :23

He loves us dearly. So, to you who has never heard of the love of God; His love is great and genuine to forgive. To you who has wandered away from God; come home. Jesus is still calling.

Many on their death beds have suddenly realized that Jesus was real the whole time. “Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them” – (Ecclesiastics 12: 1)

Begin to pray and ask Jesus into your life if He isn’t already there. He knocks gently. Also pray for all those who are yet to come to the saving knowledge of Christ. Ask Jesus to use your conduct, speech and thought to witness His love to the lost.

Souls are parting to eternity, soul are parting as we speak today. Souls are parting as the days go by, but how many really will die in Christ? How many really will live again? Reach out now! Click: https://youtu.be/_LFq-ZepNbw
