His blood on our heads.

Today’s Devotion
Topic: His blood on our heads.
Text: Matthew 27: 25

All the people answered, “Let his blood be on us and on our children!” Amen.

When our Lord Jesus was betrayed and arrested, He spoke no ill against anyone. When He was brought before Pilate for questioning, He spoke no ill. When He was eventually sentenced to be killed in the most gruesome manner, He wouldn’t say a word, amazingly.

At the time, it was customary for the Roman Consul in the Judea province to release a criminal by the choice of the people due to the passover festival. Pilate did not see any fault with Jesus and thus wanted to free Him.

“What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called Christ?” Pilate asked. They all answered, “Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify him!” When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. “I am innocent of this man’s blood,” he said. “It is your responsibility!” (Matthew. 27: 22- 24).

All the people answered, “Let his blood be on us and on our children!”

The people did not exactly know that by their confession, they were beseeching the mercies of God for the blood that brings redemption upon them, and all who will believe in the risen Christ, generations to come.

This blood brings us the total forgiveness of sins and restores us back to God. Let us not take the mercies of God for granted and reject the salvation of Jesus through His holy blood, shared on Calvary, so rich and free.

The blood of Jesus forgives, heals, protects and restores whatever has been lost to satan through sin and ignorance. It even speaks better things than that of Abel. Look within your heart this morning, have you asked Jesus as your Lord and saviour yet? Are you washed in the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb? Are your garments spotless and as white as snow? Begin to pray now, plead the blood on your life and on your children’s children.

Remember, we overcome the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony! Click: https://youtu.be/Bhgfx4ic3Y8
