The Value Of A Soul!

Today’s Devotion
Topic: The Value Of A Soul!
Text: Matthew 16: 26

“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeit his soul? or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” AMEN

Man is composed of three parts; spirit, soul and body. The body is the container of the soul and spirit. The soul is made up of mind, will and emotions. The soul controls the thoughts, purposes and intents of a man’s heart. In this scripture, Jesus explains how precious the soul is such that nothing in this world can be used to exchange it.

Most of us are so careful to take good care of the body. Young women like to polish their bodies with the best creams, make ups and nails without giving that same attention to the soul.

People enjoy listening to news, sports, politics on radio and tv rather than listening to the word of God. We enjoy reading the newspapers, story books and magazines than reading the word of God and books by anointed men of God. We enjoy listening to secular music than gospel music which will enrich our souls. We most often crave for the pleasures of this world to satisfy our body at the expense of the soul.

Many of us cherish our cars, houses, land, academic qualifications, titles and positions. It is good to possess all these things for a better life but bear in mind you will not carry it over to the grave. It all ends at death. Grabbing everything in the world is not a prerequisite to the salvation of our souls.

Spend more time developing your soul by reading the word of God daily, praying always to strengthen your spiritual life (Jude 1:20), fellowshipping and contributing to the house of God. Remember, nothing can exchange for your soul. Pay attention to its development just as you spend time polishing and nourishing the body.

Begin to pray for God’s grace to develop your soul and build your spiritual life. Your life must remain in His hands. Click and be blessed: https://youtu.be/Y0q3DL0G9I0
