Topic: Dawn Prayers & Meditation!
Text: Isaiah 50: 4

4 The Sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed. Amen

Early morning prayers and scriptural meditations are beneficial. This is not to mean dawn is the only or even best time for prayers. Obviously that will depend on the believer’s personal covenant with God and also how his/ her daily activities are scheduled. However, the word of God provides some very useful advantages that are mostly associated with dawn devotions when effectively observed.

Sometimes we go to bed with a lot on our minds; fears within and fightings without. But for some reason once day breaks, we feel some joy and enlightenment to do the best we can in the new day, to correct the mistakes of the previous, while making strides for the next day. And that same zeal for life is also a fantastic motivation for prayer and mediation because God is life. Psalm 30: 5b puts it better when it says “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning”.

“Dawn” also provides a serene atmosphere, free from interference and interuption. Even the loudest person is calm and reflective at dawn. This also allows for perfect mediation. According to Mark 1: 35, “very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed”.

Finally, at dawn before the day’s activity actually begin, time spent with God allows a perfect download of grace, direction, wisdom and blessings. It also assures protection for ourselves and loved ones. Prophet Isaiah teaches from the text above that our ears are wakened at dawn to listen like one being instructed. And by what we receive from God, it’s easy to know the exact word to say that will sustain your weary spouse, colleagues, subordinates, destitute friend or disappointed neighbour.

Make a personal covenant with the Holy Spirit therefore. Ask Him to wake you up every dawn and wade off all the fatigue and laziness. So that you can enjoy effective fellowship with Him for strength, favour and guidance throughout the day and beyond.

If only we will make the appointment, we will realise He is, (and has) always been eager to fellowship with us. Please don’t keep Him waiting any further. Click: https://youtu.be/7PqEOTDLl9w
