The Dream Killers

Today’s Devotion
Topic: The Dream Killers
Text: Mark 10:47-49

And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, “Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.” Amen

Long ago, a story is told of a man who sold crabs in the market square. He never covered the crabs, yet none of them ever got out. Amazed, a younger man one day asked, “Why don’t the crabs escape even though they are not covered?” The man replied: ‘every time one of them tries to climb out, the rest pull him back’ and so has today’s world become.

Not too many people will encourage you on a good course. See how the crowd shut the blind man up when he called out to his salvation (Jesus). Don’t let people discourage you when you are either pursuing God’s will or His purpose in Christ for your life.

You think you are an ex-convict, so were John (the Baptist) and Joseph (the dreamer). Although those two were wrongfully accused they still ended up in jail. You think you are a murderer? So were Paul, David and Moses. You think you are a trickster and a cheat so much such that God can never forgive you? So was Jacob. But God still used them all.

Today begins a new week, be of good comfort and reach out to Christ. Your success is possible with Him. Begin to pray from all that has been discussed above. Simply keep your gaze upon the Lord, He will never leave nor forsake you. Therefore continue to march on till victory is won.
