Topic: Some Seven Things The Lord Hates
Self Assessment (228)

Background:
To hate is to feel intense dislike for someone or something. It has therefore been asked that if God is love, and from Him comes all righteousness, what can He hate?

The answer is Sin. God hates sin; He hates every sin; He can never be reconciled to it; He hates nothing but sin. His very nature makes sin unbearable for Him.

However there are some sins which He does in a special manner hate; because they are injurious to our neighbour.

It is an evidence of the good-will God bears towards mankind that these sins are in a special manner provoking to Him. They are prejudicial to the comfort of human life and society.

Let us quickly delve into the passage for the day and discover some of these things the Lord hates, so we can discuss and learn from them.

Text: Proverbs 6: 16- 19
_16 There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to Him:_
17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,
