One Thing I Know

Topic: One Thing I Know
Text: John 9: 25

5 He replied, “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!” Amen

It’s a new year! The dawning of new beginnings and the restoration of all that was destroyed in the past. Refuse to let men keep you in the troubles of the past. This is a new day!

One day Jesus saw a man born blind. His disciples wondered by whose sin the man suffered. “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life” (John 9: 3).

“Having said this, He spat in the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. “Go”, He told him, “wash in the pool of Siloam”. SO THE MAN WENT AND WASHED, AND CAME HOME SEEING” (John 9: 6-7).

The blind man’s neighbours discussed among themselves if he was the same person that used to beg for alms. After He confirmed he was, they asked him how it was that, he could see again. He replied ” THE MAN THEY CALL JESUS MADE SOME MUD AND PUT IT ON MY EYES. HE TOLD ME TO GO TO SILOAM AND WASH. SO I WENT AND WASHED, AND THEN I COULD SEE”. HALLELUYAH!

Unfortunately the Jews carried him to the Pharisees so that his healing may be investigated. But brethren, how is it that a healing so obvious should be investigated? Anyway, they tried to convince the blind man to disregard Jesus. If He (Jesus) healed him on a Sabbath, then He’s a sinner. The man replied, “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!”

The opportunity to start anew is graciously granted you today. Do not allow anyone distract you with the horrible past Jesus has brought you from. That was your “BEFORE”, blind and in darkness, with no hope to SEE THIS YEAR! Now, your “AFTER” is beautiful.

JESUS GIVES YOU THIS NEW YEAR AS A GIFT, GRAB IT AND MAKE THE BEST OF IT LIKE ONE WHO KNOWS HE/SHE DOESN’T MERIT IT BUT FOR GRACE.
When pushed to the wall to explain this wonderful change that has come all over you, tell them to go on with their theological arguments as to whether Jesus is the Son of God or not. For you, one thing is certain: YOU USED TO BE BLIND, BUT NOW YOU SEE!

Do your best to follow carefully the footprints of the Master so you can avoid the mistakes of the past year. Also, lift up your faith to see the possibility of all your aspirations through Christ. When they ask what you’re seeing now because you used to be blind, joyfully tell them you see this year as your year of DIVINE ENCOUNTERS!

YES, IT IS GOING TO BE A GREAT YEAR OF FELLOWSHIP WITH CHRIST FOR YOU AND YOUR HOUSEHOLD, IN JESUS NAME.
