Grasp This Opportunity Too

Today’s Devotion
Topic: Grasp This Opportunity Too
Text: Galatians 6: 9- 10

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Amen

Giving has always been a challenge to most people. There are different things one can give out to someone as gift. These range from tangible (cash, cars, houses, bibles, food or clothings) to intangible (time, love, attention, advise -words).

But the motivation to give, as identified in the Bible, can be grouped into two:

  1. Jesus in His words to the disciples advised in Luke 6: 30 to give to everyone who asks us. This shows that, one gets the opportunity to do good through giving when asked. Be prepared, therefore, to give when asked.
  2. King David also asked in 2 Samuel 9: 1 that, “Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”. This is going the extra mile to do good, where one does not wait to be asked but searches for the opportunity to show kindness to people in need.

Let us remember that giving is also our opportunity to be blessed in “good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over”(Luke 6 : 38). So as we prepare to grasp every good opportunity that comes our way in life, let us do same in giving.

Pray Now! Ask God to make you willing to give those who are in genuine need and ask for your assistance. Also, He should direct you to the right persons who really need help but may not be able to ask. CLICK TO BE ENCOURAGED: https://youtu.be/M2zvFRdmQ7Q
