Deeper Secrets

Text: Luke 24: 45 (NLT)

Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. Amen

The disciples of Jesus usually had a “tough time” understanding some of the things Jesus told them. They walked, talked and followed Him everywhere yet didn’t understand the words He spoke. These words were deeper than their simple minds could comprehend.

On several occasions Jesus did and said things that were in harmony with the laws and prophecies already written about Him but they hardly understood. He even foretold about His death and resurrection on the third day. Yet it all seemed new to them as those events were unfolding.

After His resurrection, some of His followers still couldn’t believe and fully understand exactly what was going on. Jesus then appeared to them in Jerusalem, He reminded them that, everything written about Him in the law of Moses, by the prophets and in the Psalms had to be fulfilled before the Son of Man would be glorified. He opened their minds to understand scriptures. From that day, their doubting minds settled. (Luke 24: 44-45)

It’s the same with us today. We have been about Jesus for so long. Yet, we can not comprehend and appreciate the Word of God. We don’t spend time searching scriptures to know the mind of God concerning our lives and circumstance. Sometimes we read the bible only to satisfy our conscience and not because we want to meditate and imbibe the hidden truths behind what we read. As a result, we have all become shallow and easily misled by false teachings.

Beloved, there are deeper treasures in the Word of God. Remember the devil tempted Jesus by quoting scripture. If we don’t launch into the deep things of God and give ourselves constantly to the study of the Word, satan will capitalize on our ignorance and confuse us with a bunch of lies that totally misrepresent God.

Therefore each time you pick the bible to read, don’t rely on your intellect for insight, ask the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of your understanding so that you may know the truth that sets you free. Begin to meditate and pray the Word into you life right now. It is a lamp unto your feet and light unto your path. Kindly click, watch and be blessed: https://youtu.be/mUA13P7nskk
