Confusion In The Church (Final Part)

Topic: Confusion In The Church (Final Part)
Text: Num 16: 28- 34

28 Then Moses said, “This is how you will know that the Lord has sent me to do all these things and that it was not my idea: 29 If these men die a natural death and suffer the fate of all mankind, then the Lord has not sent me.

30 But if the Lord brings about something totally new, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them, with everything that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the realm of the dead, then you will know that these men have treated the Lord with contempt.

31 As soon as he finished saying all this, the ground under them split apart 32 and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them and their households, and all those associated with Korah, together with their possessions.

33 They went down alive into the realm of the dead, with everything they owned; the earth closed over them, and they perished and were gone from the community. 34 At their cries, all the Israelites around them fled, shouting, “The earth is going to swallow us too!” Amen

Oh Korah, Dathan, Abiram and On, what a way to die. What a needless struggle for power. It is sad that they did not inquire from the Lord whether Moses was on course or not before corrupting the assembly against Him.

Secondly, they didn’t also intercede for Moses or sit him down to discuss their grievances in a godly manner. Korah and his team simply wanted Israel to realise they didn’t need Moses and Aaron. All of them were holy therefore, anyone of them could serve.

But beloved, it will forever remain wiser to leave who is holy and who is not for God to decide. He knows and weighs our actions, deeds and thoughts. Even though in Christ we are the righteousness God, we are encouraged to strive to be perfect as our Lord is perfect. Work out your salvation with fear and trembling, leave God to be the judge.

May He find us faithful with the “little” things He had entrusted in our hands so that, we may enter His joy. Begin to pray now! Pray against backbiting, lies, quarrels and mistrust in the body Christ. Ask the Lord to make us ONE just as He and the Father are One. He will carry us on His shoulders all the way, and give us grace, so we can follow in His footsteps. His ways are perfect. Click:https://youtu.be/J6fuMFN7sso
