Self Assessment

INTRODUCTION: We live in a day and age where Christian values seem to be losing their place in a world that is growing in constant disregard for all things sacred.

The present age is corrupting almost everyone and secularizing the church in such a way that is really uncomfortable for the elect. The fear of God is fast waning off to give way to human philosophies and principles that only seek to gratify our selfish desires.

Is it not time to wake up and run back to the Word of God before we miss heaven in our attempt to attain the pleasures of the earth?

This has become the inspiration behind our series on Christian values and practices. Most of our discussions will be based on Hebrews 13. We pray you be blessed beyond measure.

Background: The author of Hebrews touched on several themes that help us understand the sacredness of God and the provision He has made so that we, though unworthy, can through Christ Jesus partake in His divine Holiness.

In the chapter 13 however, the author tries to summarize some Christian values we must hold dearly to. This is because they please the Lord and have eternal benefits for those who practice them. Let us now begin the series by trying to understand the value of BROTHERLY LOVE.

Text: Hebrews 13: 1-3
1 “Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. 2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. 3 Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” Amen!
