Your Turn To Encourage!

Today’s Devotion

Topic: Your Turn To Encourage!

Text: Isaiah 35: 3-4

Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution, He will come to save you.” Amen!

It is your turn today to encourage a friend who is down and weary. Yes, you may have your own worries too but put your cares aside for once and go all out for another. In the process you will realise that as the Holy Spirit ministers through you, your own healing will be inevitable. Such that both you and your “encouragee” can’t afford but glorify God for the healing that is only in Him to find.

You have always been so engrossed in your own situation that you forget others around you are hurting too. You have always been the one accusing that friend and the other, the pastor and the church, your spouse and relatives for not showing you enough care. But what about you being there for them even as Christ has been to the church?

What about the unconditional agape love in Christ you profess to have? Won’t you rather go out of your way to minister to those like you who hurt as a demonstration of your faith in the word of God that Jesus is able to heal?

So yes! Encourage yourself and recieve strength to minister hope to the despairing soul. Say to the weary, the worn, the torn, the fearful, the broken hearted, the hungry, the grieving, the depressed, the sad, the faint and the troubled that Jesus will surely come and save!

For centuries, He has been known to the world over as the specialist in fixing broken heartedness, strengthening the weak and giving hope where there is none. His word wills above all things that we prosper and be in good health even as our soul prospers.

He also specialises in making all things work together for the good of those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose. All things here imply every situation we find ourselves; the good, bad and ugly. He can cause them all to produce results that work for our good. Hallelujah!

Be encouraged therefore to put aside your own anxieties so you can also encourage another in Jesus Name!

Begin your day by praying for all those in distress. Seek from scriptures what encouraging words you can share with them, tell them to trust in the Lord, tell them Jesus died for our sins, tell them to let go the past, tell them vengeance is the Lord’s, tell them Jesus will surely come and Save them!

HOWEVER IN THE INSTANCES WHERE NO  WORDS COULD EVER BE ENOUGH, PROVIDE A SHOULDER FOR THAT FRIEND TO LEAN ON, AND JUST BE THERE FOR THEIR TEARS! God will use your life to show that He’s near.
