Your Prayer Account

Today’s Devotion
Topic: Your Prayer Account
Text: Daniel 6: 10

But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God. Amen

Day in day out, we miss out on the most important of all we need: PRAYER.

At the beep of our alarm clocks, we set ourselves into motion without a sense of direction. We forget that the Almighty woke us up and we need to be thankful. We leave our homes without asking God to bless our going out and our coming in either.

We are always on the run, doing so much but achieving very little.
We have not purposed in our hearts to have a ‘prayer savings account’, where like Cornelius in the book of Acts, our prayers become both a memorial and a sweet scented offering before our Father in heaven.

We just have zero deposit in that account and we never bother to even review our lives with God to see our ‘prayer statements’ so that we are moved to start savings now. Always relying on the prayer account of others to get by.

The Bible says that Daniel prayed continuously till he was thrown into the lion’s den yet his prayer never ceased. To the point that the mouths of these hungry lions were shut all night long for his sakes.

What about you beloved? Why don’t you open a prayer account now? Why don’t you draw near to God while you can before the days of trouble come? If your prayer account is simply nonexistent or empty, your withdrawal slip to solve every problem may bounce one day soon!

When Jehovah says in Jeremiah 33: 3 that, ‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know’, it means ‘the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry’ (Ps 34: 15).

Make a decision therefore, to open a ‘prayer savings account’ today. It should be for the sakes of your Christian walk with God in this perverse generation. It should also be because of your future dreams and aspirations. The account is still relevant for all things known and unknown to you. It remains super useful finally, for preparing us for eternity with the Lord.

Be careful to make a deposit every moment you are awake then and throughout the day, do not stop. Continue to fill this account with ceaseless prayer and praise because you may never know when you will need to do a withdrawal. May spirit of prayer rest unto us all in Jesus name.

NB: 15days more to 4JBAND’s Harel Concert. Kindly make a date!
