Topic: You Won’t Go Hungry!

Text: Proverbs 10:3

3 The Lord does not let the righteous go hungry, but He thwarts the craving of the wicked. Amen

Many of us have considered food as one basic necessity that must be available in its variety for our choice, pleasure and satisfaction.

To others however, food is a luxurious commodity. It’s scarce and never available in varieties for our choice, pleasure or satisfaction. Such brethren feel privileged to find food and when they have, eat it for survival and not for pleasure or satisfaction.

The difference between these two categories above is that, those who see food as a basic necessity that must be available in its variety have the means to afford it. While those who see it as a scarce commodity can bearly make ends meet.

One thing however is common among both categories- HUNGER. It is inevitable and comes to all at different times and would go no where until satisfied. Only to show up again and soon.

Its nature is persistent and its demands, stronger than can be sustained by the gains of man. Which reveals that it is only the kind of supply which comes from the God of abundance, that satisfies hunger.

This is why the psalmist wrote that even “the lions, may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.” (Psalm 34:10). To all such people, the Lord supplies their needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus and never let them go hungry.

In summary, mankind must come to the realisation that as long as a man or woman fears God and is willing to work diligently with their hands, the Lord will bless and multiply their work till they can gather enough to feed themselves and the many who look up to them.

The reverence to God provides the blessings that ‘maketh’ rich and He adds no troubles to it. While our diligence to work provides the avenue for the manifestation of that blessing as well as the arena to sustain and multiply it.

For this reason, be confident in your God that in this new month, as you continuously fear God and work diligently with your hands, the good Lord will also continue to bless you daily with more than a few. If it is true that “in all labor there is profit” (Pov. 14: 23a), then why should your own labour yield differently.

Begin to pray now. Commit your studies and your work into the hands of the Lord. You may as well include your household and all other responsibilities that rest on your shoulder. Hand them all to Jesus and ask Him to help you not worry about a thing except to reverence Him more and to work dilligently as unto Him and not unto man.

There and then, you will see that “the LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.” (Deuteronomy 28:12). This is the word of God to all who can believe and obey.
