Who Would Imagine A King?

Today’s Devotion
Topic: Who Would Imagine A King?
Text: Luke 1: 66

Everyone who heard this wondered about it, asking, “What then is this child going to be?” For the Lord’s hand was with him. Amen

Every new born baby looks cute and adorable. But they also are very helpless and will depend on adults for all their needs. If these needs are met, the new born baby will grow to be an infant, then a child, then a teenager, then an adult (where he/she assumes full responsibility for themselves). Until then, that little baby could grow up to be anything. Yes, anything good or bad depending how we nurture and raise them.

You see, the incredible events surrounding the birth of John the Baptist led many to ask “what then is this child going to be for the hand of the Lord is upon him”.
Yes! This rhetorical question is legitimate because no one can actually tell what the future holds for a Child born into God’s plan and agenda.

One could easily assume that Baby Jesus will grow to become a shepherd or carpenter because He was born in a manger and His father was a carpenter. Honestly He was only briefly a carpenter. In the fullness of time His true identity was revealed to all. HE IS KING, SAVIOR, HEALER, WONDERFUL COUNSELLOR, REDEEMED AND JUDGE!

His place of birth and family orientation was not to be the determining factor of what He was going to be in life. It is the hand of the Lord upon a child’s life that determines his/ her destiny.

Dear Parents, let us forever cherish the children God give us (either biologically or by adoption). No child is ever useless- Our father God never gives useless gifts. Let’s love them and give them all the support they require. For today they may be depending on us entirely for sustenance, tomorrow they are Kings.

Begin to pray now. Ask for grace to live for God and to train your children in the way of the Lord. Mary, that baby on your lap, is KING! See you at church!

NB: All Glory To Jesus for HIS AWESOME PRESENCE DURING YESTERDAY’S HAREL CONCERT. A big God bless you too to all of us who either made it, or supported with prayers from afar. Y OUTREACH NETWORK & 4JBAND is very very grateful for your heart! We say MAY THE LORD JESUS FOREVER REMAIN ‘THE CENTER OF YOUR JOY’. We Love you!
