We Bring The Song Back To Zion!

Today’s Devotion
Topic: We Bring The Song Back To Zion!
Text: Psalm 126: 1- 2

1 When the LORD brought back the captives to Zion, we were like men who dreamed. 2 Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” Amen

Captivity is a terrible thing to experience. It reduces a royal to a deprived, almost inhumane position with no rights at all. It is sure to steal your joy and turn your laughter into tears.

This is how the Psalmist described his experience in captivity. He says; “By the rivers of Babylon we sat and wept when we remembered Zion. 2 There on the poplars we hung our harps, 3 for there our captors asked us for songs, our tormentors demanded songs of joy; they said, “Sing us one of the songs of Zion!” 4 How can we sing the songs of the Lord while in a foreign land?” (Psalm 137: 1- 4).

Some of us are captives in our relationships, others serve under difficult bosses whose insensitivity keeps us bound. Many more are entangled by the shackles of poverty, diseases, anxieties, worries, etc. Sometimes, it becomes really difficult to praise and pray. We sit by the rivers of Zion and weep. Especially when we remember Zion.

Zion is the Holy Mountain of God. A place God has chosen for His dwelling. The beautiful city of God on that mountain is called JERUSALEM (Peace). It is on this mountain we receive our deliverance and possess our possession(s). Obadiah 1:17 declares; “But on Mount Zion will be deliverance; it will be holy, and Jacob will possess his inheritance.”

So cheer up child of God. The Lord has been working out your deliverance all this while. It will be to you like a dream.

He ministers to you this morning and says “… I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.” ( Joel 2: 25).

Don’t be sad anymore. Pick up the song of joy and put your praise garment on. The Lord fills your mouth with laughter. Join in the Holy Procession headed back to Zion. Your life will never be the same again.

Begin to pray now. Don’t let the DEVIL STEAL YOUR JOY. REMEMBER “As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people both now and forevermore” (Psalm 125: 2). Break every chain of limitation and walk in the liberty of Christ. See you at church. Click and be blessed: https://youtu.be/NnPmws5X-IY
