We Are Not Alone!

Topic: We Are Not Alone!

Text: Matthew 28: 20b

“…And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen

We all come to that point where we feel all alone because we’re “cornered” by issues of life. Lost in a never ending struggle that threatens even the joys of our tomorrow, we wonder how come no one seems to care.

Countless questions run through our minds and we wonder if we can ever sail through the storm without the help of the many who have obviously abandoned us to our fate.

Elijah the prophet ‘tasted’ of a similar situation when he felt his life was in danger for being the ‘only’ prophet standing for the Lord. He was ready to give up and even asked the Lord to take His life. (1 Kings 19: 4, 10,14). But will God ever abandon His own people? Certainly not!

Responding to Elijah’s fears, Jehovah said to him, “No, I have 7,000 others who have never bowed down to Baal.” (1 Kings 19: 18, Rom 11: 4). Elijah wasn’t alone; there were many other people standing for the Lord too. Even greater than this was the fact that the Lord (Himself) was with Elijah and He (Jehovah) is more than a multitude.

Beloved in Christ, our situations may not be so peculiar after all. Many others probably face similar or worse challenges day in and day out. But in all these struggles, the most assuring thing is to know that EMMANUEL: GOD IS WITH US!

He is an ever-present help in times of trouble; our safest refuge and tower; the Lord, invincible in battle (Ps. 24:8). In our darkest times, He remains the only true light that shines brighter than life itself. With this great God on our side, can we ever be alone?

Dearly beloved, it’s time to arise unto prayer. God is forever ready to help us if we will run into His embrace. He says “Behold I am the God of all flesh, is there anything too hard for me?” (Jer 32: 27).

Begin to talk to Him right now. Be sure to bring up all those issues regarding your marriage, career, ministry, education, finances and health. HE IS ABLE, BOTH TO MEET OUR NEEDS AND ALSO KEEP US TO THE VERY END; WE ARE NEVER REALLY ALONE!
