Watch It!

Topic: Watch It!
Text: 1 Samuel 8:19

But the people refused to listen to Samuel. “No!” they said. “We want a king over us. Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.” Amen

For many years, God had been the commander in chief of The Isrealites. He fought their battles and protected them.

Then one day, the Israelites came to their messanger to God, Samuel and said: “give us a king to rule us. We want to be like the other nations”.

So you may be thinking: what was wrong with them? How could they not want protection from God anymore?

A lot of us today behave much like they did. Sometimes, God gives us so much that, we fail to appreciate the things He does for us. Instead, we want to be in charge of our own affairs.

Yes, we do acknowledge God and His sovereignty over all things, but He seems far away in the heavens and all our colleagues are in charge of their own affairs. So why not us? We can’t we be in charge of our own affairs?

We want to be like the other nations- ruled by the wisdom of man NOT God. We want to be who WE “wonna” be., not who HE said we would be.

We don’t want to live by a code or belief system. No prayer, no bible study, no church, just us in charge; acting purely on instinct and human knowledge just like those who do not know God.

It is always very easy to come up with excuses why we do so many things out of the will of God just to satisfy our guilt.

But you see, when we choose our own path, it is God we are despising. And anyone who abandons the ways of the Lord is lost in misery and helplessness. Some of them manage to crawl back to God, though wounded and worn. They plead for mercy and restoration. Others get lost trying to save themselves.

God is working things out for your good. Trust Him to lead you and you will never full direction need nor miss your providential way. Begin Pray Now! Watch and be blessed: https://youtu.be/HC5707bPzw0
