Doing Good (Luke 6:27-36 or Act 10: 38) June 20, 2013

Jesus of Nazareth ….. went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Amen

What does the Bible mean when it tells us to “to do good”? Jesus did good by teaching, healing, feeding, and comforting people.

Using Jesus as a perfect example, His followers are called to meet the needs of others, including those who hate them. They are to serve their enemies without expecting anything in return.

To be like our saviour and His early followers, we should ask ourselves each day: “what good thing can I do today that will bring glory to God?” When we do good, we offer a sacrifice that pleasing to the Lord ( Heb. 13:16) and that draws people to him.

Go out, imitate Jesus-go about doing good. Be kind with your words and deeds. Pray that the Lord uses your life to show that He loves, cares and forgives.
