Then The Lord Said!

Topic: Then The Lord Said!
Text: Jeremiah 1: 12

Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over My word to perform it.” Amen

From the beginning of creation till now, the Almighty God has always been speaking. The phrase “And God said…” is literally scattered all over the Bible. He spoke to different people at different times under different circumstances and for different reasons.

In our day, He continues to speak to His children through many ways. Among these ways are the written Word of God, the still small voice of the Holy Spirit, fellow humans, dreams, and circumstances, just to mention a few. Whatever the means, it is important to recognize when God speaks to you.

Many times, after we have heard Him speak to us, we become very anxious to see His word fulfilled in our lives. It seems to be the only rational way to react. But today’s scripture reveals something phenomenal.

In verse 11 of Jeremiah chapter 1, the Lord said to him, “Look, Jeremiah! What do you see?” And he replied, “I see a branch from an almond tree.” Then the Lord replied saying, “You have seen well, for I am watching over My word to perform it.”

How amazing! After God has spoken any word to you, He does not ‘just go to sleep’; He actively watches to see to it that whatever He said to you will come to pass without fail. He makes sure all things work together for your good so that your expectation is not cut short.

So you see, you are not the only one who eagerly awaits the manifestation of those precious promises God has made to you; He does too. The next time you are tempted to wonder whether or not it is too late for you, remember God’s word to Jeremiah and hear Him say to you, “…I am watching over My word to perform it.”

Begin to pray all the doubt and fear away. Pray also that your ears may be attentive to His voice so that you don’t go ahead of His plan in rush nor slack behind for reasons of spiritual sluggishness.

As for God, His word concerning your life will not return to Him empty, until it has accomplished what He desired and achieved the purpose for which He sent it (Is 55: 11). By faith, look forward to its manifestation. God is also watching over it to perform. These two expectations, your faith released in action and God’s Power in the Word to perform, make every impossibility possible and the children of God, very blessed beyond measure.

Hold on to His word Precious One. It will never fail.
