Today’s Devotion
Topic: The Small Things For Big Results!
Text: Micah 5: 2, 4
2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel,whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.” 4 He will stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. And they will live securely, for then his greatness will reach to the ends of the earth. Amen
The formulae of God always defies logic and human reasoning. When He has a project to undertake, he doesn’t audition, cash or interview to get the best and most qualified for the job. Rather the least and lowly, the one who is from far and seems to have a long way to go. One who is and should remain down by human logic.
Micah 5: 4 describes the coming of a great King. By the prophecy, it was obvious that this coming king would be the greatest the world had ever known. Yet God chose Bethlehem for His birthplace and hometown. He (God) did this being fully aware that Bethlehem was the smallest clan in Judea. Same way He chose lowly Mary and Joseph, a manger, a donkey, fishermen and tax collectors, a prostitute, a carpenter and a thief. To transform them and use them to show forth His glory. What a God!
So now arise oh messenger of God. Go to the highlands and lowlands, tell the lowly, the dejected, the lonely, the one from a humble background, the poor, the uneducated, the sick, the dying and the lost that Jesus bids them come. Be sure to let them know they are the MOST USEFUL ON GOD’S ACTION PLAN FROM NOW TO THE YEARS TO COME.
For all who need grace: come! Jesus turns your life around. Out of you comes greatness such as the world has never seen before! Begin to pray now.
