Topic: Six Great Truths To Consider!
Text: 1 Thessalonians 5: 16- 22

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; 21 hold on to what is good, 22 reject every kind of evil. Amen

Six basic principles that guarantee your victorious life.

1. Rejoice always: Let the joy of the Lord flow through you daily no matter the circumstance and you will have the strength to face any situation, no matter what. Therefore, rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice (Philippians 4: 4).

2. Give thanks: Dearly Beloved, we are to give thanks to the Almighty God in all things, whether good or bad. This attitude connotes some high acceptance of God’s sovereignty in every matter that concerns us, and our absolute trust in His ability, to make all things work together for our good. Therefore, “sacrifice thanksgiving to God, fulfil your vows to the Most High. And call on Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, AND YOU WILL HONOR ME.” (Psalm 50: 14- 15).

However, “when you bring a thanksgiving offering to the Lord, IT MUST BE SACRIFICED PROPERLY SO IT WILL BE ACCEPTED ON YOUR BEHALF.” ( Leviticus 22: 29). A thankful heart is a recieving life.

3. Do not quench the Spirit: Be fervent in prayer, fasting, bible study and obedience so you don’t quench the Spirit. The reason is, it is He (the Holy Ghost), who bears witness with our spirits that we are the children of God (Romans 8:16). He’s also the seal of our salvation (Ephesians 1:13). For this matter, decide to walk in the Spirit at all times so that you do not fulfill the desires of the flesh (Galatians 5: 16). Yearn to bear the fruit of the spirit too. Against such things, there is no law. (Galatians 5: 22-23).

4. Don’t despise prophesy: Brethren, we shouldn’t despise prophesy at all, but at the same time, we must test them all with the WORD. Remember, “we have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith” (Romans 12:6).

Beloved, God has so much to say to His children and to edify the church. We must heed the voice of the Spirit of prophecy, so that we can be in line with what the Lord intends on doing as confirmed by the Holy Scriptures. However, we must test them all to make sure it is the voice of God we’re hearing.

5. Hold on to all things good: Yes, make a conscious effort to be good, do good, remain good, go for good, take good, desire good and become good in all that you do. And since only God is good and does good (Psalm 119: 68), it means make God your all in all things. And strive to be like Him and Him alone.

6. Reject all forms of evil: Evil surround us on every side. Refuse to become corrupted or affected by it. Reject all forms of negativity that either attacks or entices you. As light has no relationship with darkness (2 Corinthians 6: 14), so you have and should have nothing to do with evil. Reject all forms of evil in Jesus mighty name.

Meditate on these things, consider how you will, by the help of God, improve in those areas you fall short. Remember, “when the ways of a man pleases the Lord, even his enemies are at peace with him” (Proverbs 16: 7). Don’t give up the good fight. Click: https://youtu.be/7eI69zDFhJ8
