Topic: Seek The Lord In All Your Fears!
Text: Psalm 34: 4

4 I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears. Amen

Many are the struggles and fears that plague many in this life; The fear of failure, the fear of the unknown, the fear of the dark, the fear of marrying the wrong person, the fear of breaking barriers and advancing because of some past trends in one’s family or the setbacks in their background, the fear of dying or losing a dear one because of the evil that surrounds, and so on and forth.

You even remember how in spite of all the great miracles God did through him, Elijah, out of fear of being killed by Jezebel, fled to Horeb? (1 Kings 19:1-3). You see, like Elijah, many of us believers entertain a lot of fear in all our endeavours. Especially when faced with the least opposition. Mostly the momentum of our fear increases as we see the signs that almost confirm our suspicions to be true.

This morning however, allow the testimony king David shared in the passage above, talk you out of all your fears. The king reiterates that he sought the Lord when he was afraid and He answered him; delivering him from ALL his FEARS.

Encourage all who are afraid to gather around. We are going to seek the face of God together. We are going to seek Him now that He can be found. He who has not given us the spirit of fear but of love and sound mindedness, will also deliver us from all fear.

As a matter of fact, if it is true that it takes one fear to kill another fear, then may the fear of the Lord which encompasses total reverence, surrender, and full trust in the Lord; deliver you from the fear of evil things happening around you. This is because “the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and He delivers them” (Psalm 34:7).

When you are afraid of taking a step, seek the Lord about it, for it is He who goes before you. When you feel like retreating or giving up, seek the Lord and don’t look back for He is the one who stands behind you. The psalmist sought the Lord and He answered him. And the Lord delivered him from ALL his fears. Begin to pray and cast all your fears and burdens unto the One who loves and cares for us.

And always remember, in all that you do or say, that we have “The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD Invincible in battle”(Ps. 24:8). With Him on our side, who or what have we to fear?
