Seek, Look to and Fear God!

Today’s Devotion
Topic: Seek, Look to and Fear God!
Text: Psalm 34: 4, 5, 7

“4 I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. 5 Those who look to Him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. 7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them.” Amen

The thought of being favoured or distinguished and having the upper hand in every situation is one that none of us would dislike. We are all looking forward to a blessed year filled with great and glorious happenings. Indeed, that is exactly what God has in store for us.

Our Scripture for today shows us 3 keys by which we can unlock divine favour and enjoy deliverance from our fears (verse 4), receive glory instead of shame (verse 5), and enjoy divine protection (verse 7). The keys are to: Seek, Look to and Fear God!

1) In seeking: God must be our first and constant point of call at all times, and in all situations. We are not to run to Him only when things are getting out of hand. Rather, even the more when things are going well with us. That way, He readily delivers us when troubles come.

2) In looking to: we must be conscious of the fact that we are nothing without God. In all things, we must look to Him alone knowing that His mercies towards us are new every morning. No one who looks to Him is ever put to shame. Instead there’s a glorious radiance that accompanies the person every where.

3) In fearing: we must live our lives as people who will give account of all our actions one day. Our choices and motives must be guided by the fact that we belong to a Sovereign God. A hymnist once wrote, “Fear Him, ye saints, and ye will then have nothing else to fear; Make ye His service your delight, He will make your wants His care”.

Beloved, as you go through this year, remember to apply these keys to receive deliverance, the radiance or glory of God and divine protection. Begin to pray! Ask for the grace to SEEK, LOOK TO AND FEAR GOD!

It’s another blessed Sunday, no better place to be than in the house of God. Arise! let’s go to church. But let the praise begin now. Click: https://youtu.be/rUIMkRDdNqk
