Rebuilding The Broken Wall

Today’s Devotion
Topic: Rebuilding The Broken Wall
Text: Nehemiah 1:3-4, 6:15

3 They said to me, “Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire.” 4 When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.

6:15 So the wall was completed on the twenty-fifth of Elul, in fifty-two days. Amen

A wall is an upright structure of masonry, wood, plaster or other building material serving to enclose, divide, or protect an area. From the above definition, we can say a wall is built ;
a. for defensive purposes (thus, to protect our valuables against enemies or intruders).
b. to set boundaries
c. to beautify our surroundings in some instances.

A believer is hedged today just as Jerusalem was surrounded by a thick wall. The walls around our lives get weakened when we expose it to sin and disobedience. Once the walls get vulnerable, it attracts the enemy to attack. He breaks in where there are cracks and holes and take possession of our valuables.

Dear beloved, all cracks in our wall of trust, self-confidence, high moral standard, love, empathy, and other virtues that keep us safe in from our enemies need to be rebuilt at all cost.

Don’t just look on unconcerned as the enemy enters through your broken walls at will and steals your joy and peace. Make a decision to detest sin and seek forgiveness from the Lord. Be dedicated to fasting, prayers, and bible study. You can also seek help from Christian counsellors to help you out of your addictions.

Keep your protective wall strong and intact, allow the Holy Ghost to dwell in your temple, Abide under the wings of the Almighty and the devil can do you no harm.

May the Almighty continue to be our covering in Jesus mighty name. Click and leave us a comment: https://youtu.be/iypIXnwvcaM
