Obey To Receive!

Topic: Obey To Receive!
Text 1 Kings 2- 5

”2 Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah: 3 “Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. 4 You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.”5 So he did what the Lord had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there. Amen

Prophet Elijah declared to king Ahab that as the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word. And God honored the Word of the prophet!

Now, since the drought and famine was going to last some few years, God made divine provision for the survival of Elijah. All the prophet had to do was follow 3 basic instructions:

i. Leave where he was
ii. Turn eastward and
iii. Hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan.

In these times where the whole world is complaining of severe economic famine and dryness, all the believer has to do, is to listen to the WORDS of the FATHER and OBEY! And the word of God, both spoken and written, will guide us (the children of God), to the exact place (position) where the Father has already commanded help and grace for our blessing.

It remains a fact that Jehovah sure knows how to takecare of His own. It is not too hard for God to command the ravens to supply you with bread and meat, even as the waters from the brook refreshes your soul. But will you abide in Him and His word, in you? Will you obey His commands and follow His everyday’s leading?

You know, our God is such a wonderful cordinator, He had already commissioned birds to feed Elijah at that specific location. Should the prophet had disobeyed and located himself somewhere else, the bread and meat would have gone bad while Elijah dies of hunger where ever he was.

Don’t you then realize it is time to go back to God in prayer for a Word about your life, business, education and marriage? The famine on the land may not be soon ending, but God can still order your steps to bountiful harvest!

As we begin a new working week, kindly pray for a heart that is sensitive to the voice of the Lord and obeys HIM! For, “If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword”; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken” (Isaiah 1: 19- 21).

“The Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God” (Deuteronomy 28: 1b- 2). Click: https://youtu.be/uP0V2VUddB0
