Life Is More Important

Topic: Life Is More Important
Text: Eccl 9: 4

Anyone who is among the living has hope — even a live dog is better off than a dead lion! Amen

It does not matter where you are or what you do; once you can read this message, you are alive and have every reason to thank God for that.

That we often take life for granted does not in any way reduce its value to the “living”. It remains the only reason why we exist, breath, dream, aspire, see each other and even love one another.

Solomon, the wise preacher, puts it best when he says “even a live dog is better off than a dead lion.” And that is very true.

“For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even their name is forgotten. Their love, their hate and their jealousy have long since vanished; never again will they have a part in anything that happens under the sun.” (Eccl 9: 5-6).

Therefore, thank God for life in general, and thank Him for your life too. Also, thank Him for the life in Christ you have found, leading you unto eternity.

There is hope for the living, so as you thank the Lord, be careful to talk to Him about anything that is not making your joy complete in life; all the fears, struggles and pains. Ask the Lord to make Himself your portion in this land of the living, so that you can taste the good of the land.

Finally, to all those who desire a fulfilled life and year, the rule is very simple: “always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil” (Eccl 9: 8). That is to say that always walk in righteousness with the presence of God all over you.

But those who are “living-dead”, as in alive but having nothing to live for, hear the Word of the Lord: “If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit who lives in you” (Rom 8: 11).

Rise up again to life; enjoy the life that in Christ we find. It’s called EVERLASTING LIFE. Free to all who will simply believe.
