Topic: It’s Never Misplaced!

Text: Exodus 31:1-5

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Look, I have specifically chosen Bezalel son of Uri… I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts… He is a master at every craft. Amen.

It was 2 months after the Israelites left Egypt, and God decided to visit them at Mount Sinai. He summoned Moses up the mount and presented him with detailed plans on the construction of the Tabernacle, the Ark of the Covenant, several utensils and garments for His worship.

Moses didn’t have to worry about how this demanding task was to be accomplished, because God also showed him people that He had specifically chosen and anointed for the job. Until this time, no one had taken note of the gifts and talents of Bezalel and Oholiab. They might have been seen carrying out one task or the other. But none ever thought that they were being prepared for a GREAT and noble task.

A renowned man of God once wrote, “There are no misplaced gifts and talents, but only misused ones.”

Beloved, whatever the gift or talent you see at work in your life now, know that it is never misplaced. God never gave you anything He wouldn’t need for His use. You could be misusing your gifts and talents, but it doesn’t suggest in anyway that they are misplaced.

Your gifts and talents MUST bring glory and pleasure to God, draw souls to Him through Christ Jesus, and improve human lives!

“Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.” (Prov 22: 29). Meditate on this word therefore and pray that the Holy Spirit stirs up His gifts in you.

Also make a concious effort, through training and practice, to develop all your gifts and talents. Make them available for God’s use and He will glorify Himself through you like never berfore. For certainly, “A man’s gift (will always) make room for him and brings him before the great.” (Prov 18:16). No misplaced gifts, only misused ones.
