Giving What You Have

Topic: Giving What You Have

Text: Acts 3: 6

Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Amen.

There are many principles governing the act of giving. One of such principles is the principle of ‘Giving What You Have.’

It is not acceptable, and neither is it a blessing to give to God or any person a stolen thing. One must be really assured of the ownership of an object before transfer of ownership can be made.

Since we give out what we have, it is advisable to be careful about the things we claim ownership of. If what we possess is good, that is what we will offer. If it is bad, we offer same.

For instance, a graceful person offers a sweet atmosphere for peace, harmony and love. On the contrary, an embittered person gives out hate, curses and negativity, either in their speech or conduct.

Therefore, beloved, fill your heart and mind with godliness so that you can possess righteousness. That seed springing forth within you will spread the goodness of the Lord to all those around and cause them to desire your God.

Meditate on this and begin to pray now. Ask the Holy Spirit to grant you a godly mind and a new heart. A heart just like His. One that can love, forgive and tolerate contrary views without compromising on the Word of God.

WE MUST POSSESS AND LIVE THE LIFE OF CHRIST. THAT’S ALL THE WORLD NEEDS FROM US TO BELIEVE IN THE SALVATION WE PREACH.
