From Heaven, He Watches!

Topic: From Heaven, He Watches!
Text: Psalm 33: 1, 4, 13-19

1 Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise Him. 4 For the Word of the Lord is right and true; He is faithful in all He does! 13 From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind; 14 from His dwelling place He watches all who live on earth— 15 He who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.

16 No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. 17 A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save. 18 But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His unfailing love, 19 to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. Amen

It is a beautiful Palm Sunday, and God is watching us all. Yes, He is watching us from His dwelling place. He formed our hearts and considers everything we do.

He is watching to see if we will give Him praise for all the great things He has done; for the triumphant entry to Jerusalem where He suffered to the point of death, just to set us free from sin and death.

He is watching to see if we know that no king is saved by the size of his army, nor does the warrior escape by his great strength. But that it is He who has favoured us all by grace and brought us thus far.

You see, even the mighty horse is a vain hope for deliverance. Despite all its great strength, it cannot save on the day of battle. It can only run itself into the opponent or run away from the opponent. But does it fight or deliver? Why do we hope in its deliverance then when it is our Lord Jesus, riding on a donkey today to overcome the curse of sin and save us from its guilt and power?

The Lord is out watching us again. This time very closely. His eyes are on those who fear Him, those whose hope is in His unfailing love to keep them from death and keep them alive even in famine. He rides to Jerusalem for their sakes; to break the tyranny of sin and grant eternal life to all who will believe in Him.

Meditate on this word and begin to bless God. Sing joyfully and praise His name. Has His Word not proven true and right? Has He not proved Himself faithful to His Word? Let all of creation answer. Especially those of us brought out of darkness into His marvellous light to proclaim His praise (1 Peter 2: 9).

“If the LORD had not been on our side when people attacked us, they would have swallowed us alive; when their anger flared against us. But Praise be to the LORD, who has not let us be torn by their teeth. See how we have escaped like a bird from the fowler’s snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped.” (Psalm 124: 2-7).

So why don’t you bring your praise with your palm branch in your hand; others will bring their thanksgiving and their palm branches. Together we shall shout “hosanna, blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord” (Mark 11: 9).

Our God is watching us from His throne, to see if the sons of men will give Him glory, for the great things He’s done. If we don’t, even the stones will cry out His praise. Therefore see you at church this Palm Sunday. Remember to praise the Lord with all your heart. HE IS WORTHY. click and praise: https://youtu.be/rUIMkRDdNqk
