Envy not the achievements of the sinner!

Topic: Envy not the achievements of the sinner!
Text: Ecclesiastics 8:12-13 (AMP)

12 Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and his days [seemingly] are prolonged [in his wickedness], yet surely I know that it will be well with those who [reverently] fear God, who revere and worship Him, realizing His continual presence. But it will not be well with the wicked, neither will he prolong his days like a shadow, because he does not [reverently] fear and worship God. Amen

The world in which we live is full of evil. We find people cheating others and some shedding blood to get money, power and fame. We begin to wonder why these people continue to flourish and live long even in their wickedness. It’s sometimes hard to understand why the innocent is afflicted and the wicked continue to strive.

But does this imply we have to follow them? What’s the Bible’s take on this? The sinner may live long anyway but his days will not prolong like a shadow and it will not be well with him. The wicked may acquire mansions, fleet of cars, businesses – all these are but for a time and when the time is over, everything is over. BUT it is the continual presence of God that can make everything well with us. “It is well” means the end is glorious.

Therefore, when you see others “prosper” in their wickedness, you may never know what they are going through-the many fears, the insecurity, the inner sorrows, the uncertain future, etc. Brethren, it is the presence of God that can satisfy. It is that presence that can make you sing “it is well with my soul” when things seem tough and rough.

We should always be careful to remember that in this world we live, we will leave. Let’s not then compare ourselves with the wicked thinking they’ve broken through. Judgment awaits everyone and we shall each be accountable for the things we have done.

Make a choice today to reverently fear God, worship Him and walk in His presence. With that, we can be assured that it shall end well with us. As it is written: “The end of a matter is better than its beginning”. Choose to have a better ending today. Begin to worship the Alpha and Omega now and leave the rest for Him.HE CAN HANDLE IT.
