Drawn By The Father

Today’s Devotion
Topic: Drawn By The Father
Text: John 6: 44

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day. Amen

Lately, it has become very difficult to convince unbelievers of the existence and love of God. They often ask that, “If God is good and loves everyone one like you say, why does He allow ‘bad things’ to happen to people?” This is one question every Christian who attempts to evangelize is bound to hear.

Moreover, the love of many in the church has grown cold and is not any different from what exists out there in the world. Shockingly, some of the most ‘wonderful’ vices and offenses are exhibited by Christians who claim Jesus as their Lord.

Now the reality is that, for many unbelievers, the one thing that is most likely to minister salvation to them is the unquestionable lifestyle of believers around them. However, sadly, many Christians of today exhibit much hypocrisy; the such that leave unbelievers in shock.

You remember the same was true with the Corinthian church during the early years of the church of Christ. Apostle Paul wrote to them saying, “It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that even pagans do not tolerate: A man is sleeping with his father’s wife.” (1 Corinthians 5:1)

So what has been the effect of our lukewarm attitude? Well, winning souls for Christ through actions and in-actions is heavily compromised.

What we can now do to get back on track is go back to God in full repentance and allow Him to fix us to conform to His nature. That is the first step to repairing the damages we have done to people who look up to our lifestyles to believe in God. The wounds in their minds, we can’t heal. Only God can.

Secondly, pray for every unbeliever you know. Call them by name. Since none can come to the Father unless He (Himself) draws them close, ask for the grace that must convict them as you minister God’s Word to them. You can’t save them on your own so pray for them. Jesus alone saves! Kindly click, watch and be blessed: https://youtu.be/0e_holQtAUo
