Topic: Don’t Let Your Past Hold Your Destiny!

Text: Romans 8:31 (NKJV)
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can  be against us?” Amen

“Don’t let your past hold  your destiny.” In other words, don’t let the way somebody treated you, or what they did or didn’t give you, keep you from pressing forward and becoming all that God has created you to be.

The people we have related with from our past may have said things that left us broken and feeling worthless. However, those words must not be allowed to determine our future.

Neither must you let those terrible mistakes made from your past eat up your confidence in Christ about tomorrow. God is able to make all things work together for your good.

Sometimes, our lack of confidence in our Lord concerning the future is not as a result of what people might have said to us per say, nor the mistakes from our past; but rather some sort of generational curse of poverty, disease and misfortune running through the family line.

However, no matter the obstacles you’ve encountered in your past, today seems like a perfect day to break the cycle (by prayer) and allow the Holy Spirit to nurture your faith in Christ. That becomes the foundation to a perfect walk with the Lord in spite of the current storms and the issues from your past.

Born into the family of Christ, we have become “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation; and God’s own special people”. It is the “Abrahamic” seed of blessings that runs  through us; not some curse imposed on us by our natural bloodlines.

That is why John wrote in John 1: 12 that, as many as received Jesus, to them He gave the POWER to become the children of God. “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can  be against us?”

This is a new day! Take authority in Christ and break free from the bondages of the past in the name of Jesus! Apply both the Word of God and the Blood of Christ against all forces of darkness prevailing against you. Jesus holds our future so tight and that’s how we know NOTHING, OR NO ONE can stop you from living out your purpose and destiny; except you!
