Does He Who Formed The Eye Not See?

Topic: Does He Who Formed The Eye Not See?

Text: Psalm 94: 3, 5, 7

3 How long, Lord, will the wicked, how long will the wicked be jubilant? 5 They crush your people, Lord; they oppress your inheritance. 7 They say, “The Lord does not see; the God of Jacob takes no notice.” Amen.

When the Angel of the Lord appeared to Hagar near a spring beside the road to Shur and asked her to return from running, and go back to her mistress Sarai because the baby she carried was also a covenant child; “She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me. That is why the well was called Beer Lahai Roi; it is still there, between Kadesh and Bered (Gen 16: 13- 14).

When Asa, the king of Judah took articles from the treasury of the temple and his palace to form an alliance with the enemy of God, Ben-Hadad (king of Aram) for his own political advantage over Baasha, the king of Israel, Hanani the seer told king Asa to his face that; “the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him. You have done foolishly in this, for from now on you will have wars.” (2 Chron 16: 9).

Honestly, it is only the wicked who convince themselves that their deeds are hidden and that God cannot see them. Otherwise even the greatest novice that ever lived knows that “The  LORD watches everywhere, keeping His eye on both the evil and the good” (Prov 15: 3). He is everywhere seeing everything including each one of us and every single thing we do.

In fact, David was so furious about the impression some have about God not seeing their deeds. He wrote; “take notice, you senseless ones among the people; you fools, when will you become wise? Does He who fashioned the ear not hear? Does He who formed the eye not see? Does He who disciplines nations not punish? Does He who teaches mankind lack knowledge? The Lord knows the thoughts of man; He knows that they are futile” (Ps 94: 8- 11).

Repent from sin and from all the activities in your life done under the cover of darkness. God sees you. He sees it all. He sees how you pretend He does not exist so you can have the liberty to engage in the “despicable”. His heart beats every time you ignore His prompting just so you can lurk around sin and bring curses to yourself.

Begin to pray now. Ask for forgiveness for rejecting His existence. Ask for a heart that seeks after righteousness even when God seems far from you. As for God, He sees us all and knows the thoughts of man. Denying that He sees you wouldn’t change the truth that HE DOES; AND WILL RENDER TO EACH ONE ACCORDING TO HIS WORKS (Rom 2: 6).

Start preparing for service. Let us honor God at the gathering of His saints to. For as our praise and worship rise, He who sees our love and labour for Him, will also honor His word in our lives and we will not be the same again. Cease with the excuses, see you at church.
