Come And See!

Today’s Devotion
Topic: Come And See!
Text: Psalm 66: 5- 6

5 Come and see what God has done, His awesome deeds for mankind! 6 He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot— come, let us rejoice in Him. Amen

Precious One, you remember how Jesus told Thomas in John 20: 29, that “blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed”? Well the world has contrary opinion to that. They say “seeing is believing”, therefore tell the curious, unbelieving and doubtful who have questions about our God and faith to “come and see”.

Yes tell them to come! In fact show them the way to the throne of grace. But hint them along the way not to worry much because one deed from our great God will silence their doubtful hearts once and for all.

You know, one day, news about God’s great and awesome power travelled far ahead when He turned the mighty sea into dry land for Israel to pass through. Well, this singular act put lots of shivers into the hearts of all the unbelieving nations Israel had to confront to possess the land of Canaan. Jehovah’s mighty power displayed at the red sea caused them to stumble before the people of Israel, never to rise again.

You also remember how Philip looked everywhere for Nathanael, to tell him that “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote — Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip.

When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, “Here truly is an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.” “How do you know me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, “I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you. Then Nathanael declared, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel.”

Jesus said, “You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.” He then added, “Very truly I tell you, you will see ‘heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on’ the Son of Man.”

Beloved, today is Sunday and this is the best invitation to receive; Come and see the Lord for yourself! Make sure you come with your cares and the load that you carry. Even if your faith is small and your expectation in Him, little. Still come and see. Jesus promises that you will see greater things than you have ever seen in your lifetime; therefore COME!

Begin to pray now! Tell God you are tired of only hearing about Him without a personal encounter. Tell of your expectations to see Him today at church. Also tell Him how much your heart yearns to see “heaven open, with angels ascending and descending around Him.”

Your expectation will not be cut off, just come! One touch from Him changes your life forever. Come with your eyes to see: burdens roll at the sound of His name; demons tremble at His word; chains break so the captives are set free; the lame walk and unspeakable joy floods the hearts of many. YOUR LIFE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN! See you at church.
