Climb Up And Pray!

Today’s Devotion
Topic: Climb Up And Pray!
Text: 1 Kings 18: 41- 42

41 And Elijah said to Ahab, “Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain.” 42 So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees. Amen

Elijah had just commanded fire from above to consume an offering soaked in water (a miracle that the prophets of baal couldn’t do). He also made Israel seize and kill all those prophets of baal who dared to challenge the living God at that tournament. When all these were done, he said to king Ahab “Go, eat and drink, for there is a sound of heavy rain”.

The truth is that God did those remarkable things through Elijah to prove to backslidden Israel that He is still God. And now, at the word of His servant Elijah, He was going to pour down rain after years of drought.

As Elijah gave the king the assurance to go, eat and drink because everything was going to be alright, HE (Himself) WENT UP TO THE MOUNTAINS TO PRAY.

Beloved, all of us who seek to prove how true the Word of the Lord is to friends, subordinates, superior, family etc, MUST ALSO LEARN TO CLIMB UP IN PRAYER WHILE THE OTHERS EAT AND DRINK!

When your child screams out of a nightmare deep in the night, don’t just put them back to sleep and assure them of God’s protection. Climb up in prayer and ensure God’s protection indeed.

When your employees come up to you and explain how terrible business is becoming, don’t just tell them it shall be well. As they leave your sight encouraged by your words, you must climb up in prayer and align your faith declaration with action.

After you have declared over the congregation you lead that this month is their month of victory or liberty, don’t go and sleep Pastor, hoping that victory will automatically appear. Ensure the victory in prayer. As the congregation go home rejoicing at your prophetic declaration, CLIMB UP IN PRAYER AND INTERCEDE ON THEIR BEHALF.

As for Elijah, he had to keep going back and forth in prayer 7 times before his faith declaration, that there will be abundance of rain, became a reality. Ahab was told to go and relax, but, he (Elijah) went up to pray!

Fathers, pray for your children while they sleep, wives pray for your husbands while they eat and drink without any concern for our God. Believer, pray for your Pastor while he prepares to bless you with God’s word in the next service.

In fact, somebody has to climb up and pray for the word of God to come to pass in his or her own life. You have believed from scriptures that there shall be abundance of rain, Don’t just sit and wait, climb up in prayer. For as many times as will cause a manifestation of heaven’s rain over your life, pray.

Remember men ought to pray without ceasing. Begin to pray for divine showers over your life, career, family and aspirations. The years of drought must end now in Jesus name!
