Topic: Bless His Holy Name!
Text: Psalm 103:1-2
1 Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits. Amen
Our human nature always yearns for more and more of everything. Some of these things we actually do need, the others; not necessarily.
There are times where we set our eyes on specific expectations, to give it all our attention till we easily lose track of the details of all the other significant things that God makes happen in our lives.
Some of these things could be promotions we are waiting for at the work place, a breakthrough, healing or some favour we’ve been seeking the face of the Lord for.
Well, however important these might be to you, their delay in manifesting shouldn’t in anyway suggest that GOD HAS DONE NOTHING FOR YOU. That will be a very sad deduction. See His benefits all around you.
Even your inner being can testify of how He’s saved you, raised you, kept you, moved you, loved and blessed you to the uttermost.
It is always a good thing to give thanks to God therefore, irrespective of your circumstance.
Bless the Lord and command everything within you to bless His Holy Name. Bless the Lord and ‘force’ your mind to remember His benefits to you.
It is He who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases. He redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion. He satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Why won’t you bless His name forever?
Begin to worship and appreciate the Lord. Let it come from deep within your soul. He deserves it and more. And from now onwards, when you think about life; your life, think Jesus! He is the only Sustainer who makes ‘this life’ worthwhile and brings something beautiful out of all the ashes that in the past mired everything you are.
He has dealt marvellously with you and it is obvious. Everyone who knows you agrees that you are this blessed because of His gracious kindness and love. Why don’t you bless Him too and exalt His name forever? It is only a token from your heart to the One who was, and is, and ever more shall be. He is worthy!
See you, with your gratitude and praise, at church! Our lives will never be the same again.
