Be strong and endure.

Today’s Devotion

Topic: Be strong and endure.

Text: 2 Corinthians 4:8- 9

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;persecuted but not abandoned, struck down but not destroyed.  Amen

These times are very challenging for the Christain race. The kind of persecution the church faces today is a subtle one. There are lots of evil ochestrations designed just to oppress us, destroy our faith, kill our desire for the things of God and eventually steal us from the God we love.

These schemes that are presented to us in the form of “advancement” aim to aggravate our fleshly desires and keep us contrary to the Word of God. It’s in the music we hear, movies we watch, expectations of our peers, and even some false teachings in the church.

You may be facing opposition right now at work or in school where people look down on you because you choose Christ over earthly pleasures. It may even be that your family members  and friends mock, despise and scorn you everyday for the cross you bear for our Lord.

Don’t be crushed even when these things press you hard. Apostel Paul encourages us to be Strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus and endure as good soldiers. ( 2 Tim 2: 1, 3).

No matter what the devil plans against us, we are confident of this, that He who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Begin to pray right now. Ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen you for each step along this Christian path. And to always remind us that through it all we are more than conquerors. “For to him who endures to the end, the same shall be saved.” (Matt 24: 13).
