Be Careful You Don’t Stray!

Topic: Be Careful You Don’t Stray!
Text: Proverbs 27: 8

Like a bird that strays from its nest, so is a man who strays away from his home. Amen

The safest place for a bird to be is in its nest. In that same manner, we, as humans have our safety located nowhere else but in the will and shelter of our Fathers’ love and grace. That is HOME to us.

Sometimes when we find ourselves in situations and circumstances that seem too ‘harsh’ for us, and we think and feel we have been neglected by our Father, it pays to take a moment and ask ourselves if we are still located in the place He put us — in His HOME.

This is not to say that in our Father’s home, we are free from persecution and trials, but in His Home, we are assured that we would not have to go through these persecutions and trials all by ourselves. He walks us through every step along the way with a vow NEVER TO LEAVE US NOR FORSAKE US. How comforting it is to know that we are never truly alone.

Like the prodigal son who left home, if you have completely swayed from our Father’s home and find yourself in a strange land, with strange people, doing strange things, don’t dwell a second more. COME RUNNING BACK TO JESUS. Why should you waste your life away in darkness? Why have you allowed satan to fill your heart with perversion, evil passions, lust and pride so that you spend eternity in hell? Arise, shake off the dust and make your way home!

And if you are in church but sliding off gradually, make a decision to dwell in the secret place of the Most High, so that you may abide under the shadow of the ALMIGHTY. Come back to prayer and fasting; come back to Bible study and fellowship. It doesn’t matter how far you have strayed. It doesn’t matter how shameful you think coming back to your Father’s home is going to be. It doesn’t matter who will grumble and talk at your return.

What matters is that our Father, and all the heavens with Him, await your return; so that there is rejoicing in heaven as often is, when we find a precious stone or coin that went missing.

Our Father’s love awaits your return to reinstate you as an heir that is full of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. What else could we ask for? Begin to pray now as you sing the hymn: “Just as I am without one plea,… oh Lamb of God, I come, I come.” Ask the Father to receive you once more into His household and give you a heart like His.

Take a stand for righteousness after this prayer, and refuse to stray from Home no matter how hard the devil or the world may try. Remember, like a bird that strays from its nest to be at the mercy of the currents, predators and the weather, is a man who strays away from HOME. See you at church.
