Topic: Refresh To Be Refreshed.
Text: Proverbs 11: 25.

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. Amen.

Life can be a dry desert even in the middle of an ocean. The kind of water you need for your thirst may not necessarily be sea water. You could just be fine with a glass of clean water.

All the water in the ocean will mean nothing to your thirst even if you owned it. Yes, that is the irony of life. We all need help at one given point of dryness or another, and God is always going to use someone to refresh us.

Beloved, it is no secret that those who are generous never lack. That is not to say they don’t experience lack at all; but when they do, God uses many others directly or indirectly to meet their need.

It is not true that “generous people” are so wealthy and decide to spare their surplus. But they practice generosity as a virtue, regardless of their circumstance. God honours His Word by making them prosper in everything they do.

Why don’t you join them? Remember how terrible your dry season was and refresh a friend who is dry today. It will be credited to your account in Heaven. You have to join God’s “to-be-refreshed” list. When dryness hits your door, Heaven will bring you help too.

So by all means, give. But “when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honoured by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. (Mat 6: 2- 4)

Meditate on this word and begin to pray. Ask for a generous and discerning heart. That you may give, according to the will of God, that which will bless someone and credit your account in Heaven. Bless a soul today.
