Topic: The Suffering Of Christ As Our Example!
Text: 1 Peter 2: 19- 21.

19 For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God. 20 But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. 21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in His steps. Amen.

Precious One, the life of Christ Jesus is set before us as our perfect example and so is His suffering.

Nowhere do we see His deity so manifest as on the cross. Nowhere do we see His humanity so manifest as on the cross. Nowhere do we see His work being accomplished as clearly as on the cross. There in His suffering He is most completely revealed.

You see, we know from the Holy Scriptures that that the Lord Jesus committed no sin nor was any deceit found in His mouth. Even while being reviled, He did not revile in return but kept entrusting Himself and His oppressors to God. What a wonderful example this is for all who seek the land above.

Brethren, in this walk of faith, where Christ remains both our inspiration and hope, let us all persevere to the end. For we know “that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us” (Rom 8:18).

Encourage all who feel like giving up the fight of faith to hold on. Especially those who feel the Christian race has been too challenging than the expected. Kindly remind them that, “the world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.” (1 John 2: 17).

Pray for them, pray for yourself and for all believers as well. Ask the Holy Spirit to help us take a stand for Jesus and run endurance to the end.

In an era where many are slipping away from the cross, “blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” (Jam 1: 12). Hold on!
