Topic: Your Favourite Food?
Text: John 4: 34
34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. Amen
One day Jesus sent His disciples to town to get them food. His disciples returned and were surprised to find him talking with a woman. But no one asked, “What do you want?” or “Why are you talking with her?”
Meanwhile His disciples urged him, “Rabbi, eat something.” But He said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.” Then His disciples said to each other, “Could someone have brought him food?” (John 4: 32-33)
“My food,” said Jesus, is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish His work. That “food” is the spiritual nourishment that the Father gives. The satisfaction and refreshment we receive from God after we have yielded to His will and diligently obeyed it.
The purpose and will of God for our lives creates a kind of hunger, thirst and desire that is only satisfied when we remain in and accomplish His will. Jesus said, “I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you have me to do.” (John 17:4).
The reward of eternal life, the glory we receive from God, His peace that we experience even in the midst of storms, the many good things that He satisfies us with; this is the nourishment we gain for our souls when we remain true to God and His will.
So beloved, continue in the good works for God. Strive to achieve the will of the Father for the satisfaction of your soul. Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will grant the desires of your heart. This is the kind of “food” that never runs out in your life. Begin to pray now. Let’s take after the Master, to and remain in His will. Click: https://youtu.be/z35Eu1S18lU
