I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. Amen
A few years ago, a young lady walked into an interview room very excited. This was the final of three different interview stages she and her remaining competitor had to go through. Having stayed home for nearly 2 years after school, she was determined to grab this opportunity and loose it not.
To her amazement, she didn’t have to answer much. The CEO of the great company who interviewed her expressed his strong resentment towards all forms of religious beliefs.
He thought they encouraged man to be lazy and look out to a deity for help instead of looking within SELF for all the inspiration needed. TO HIM, THERE IS NO GOD IN HEAVEN OR LIVING IN US, MAN IS HIS OWN GOD.
All the lady had to do was to denounce her faith in Jesus, become an atheist, allow a few compromises here and there, and the job would be hers.
She quickly answered without hesitation, ” I will do anything for this job. Pls sir give me this opportunity and you will never regret it”! This she said because she had thought… ” but why not, where was my God during these long jobless months? Once I get the job, I will then try and practice my faith undertone. That way, I would have gain both Christ and this job.”
Unknown to her, the CEO was a staunch Christian and a leader in his local church. She broke down in tears as she realized how close she had come in betraying the love of her Saviour Jesus Christ.
Day after day, we make choices that put our desires over God’s will for our lives. We choose to enjoy fleeting pleasures instead of humbly waiting on Him in obedience.
Today’s Scripture encourages us to hold on to what we have, so that no one will take our crowns.
Pray for staying power and a humble spirit to wait on Him and choose His will.
