Topic: Work Out!
Text: 1 Timothy 4:8
For physical training is of some value, but Godliness has value for ALL THINGS, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. Amen!
Its is expedient that as children of God, we take good care of our physical bodies. Good health is very important. However to attain godliness, it will be much more needful to take extra care of our spirit man too. Will we all agree that we sometimes care too much for our physical bodies and neglect the spirit man within?
We are more likely to think about how deformed our face or physical appearance may become if we should fast, than concentrating on how important that spiritual exercise is for spiritual growth.
We are also likely to perform our daily routine morning exercises to keep shape but decide to postpone our quiet time or prayer time in the morning. It is however important to do one, without neglecting the other.
Spiritual training has value for all things in this life and the life after. Remember, Daniel and his brethren decided not to defile themself with the delicious meal from the King’s table but at the end, they looked healthier n better nourished than the others that ate. (Daniel 1: 8- 14). They set their priority total wellness (that is developing body, soul and spirit ).
What about you Beloved? From sand were we made and to dust we shall return. That ends the journey for the body, yet our spirits moves on to judgement, to face eternity in joy or torment.
Begin to pray now. Ask for the grace, strength and discipline for physical training. It keeps our bodies functioning well. Yet with the help of the Holy Spirit, let’s all resolve to develop our spirit man more, for it has the greatest value, even unto eternity. Click: https://youtu.be/OhHsgZznJxA
