Today’s Devotion
Topic: Will This Ever Happen?
Text: Gen 18:11-12 (NLT).
Abraham & Sarah were both very old by this time, and Sarah was long past the age of having children. So she laughed silently to herself and said, “How could a worn-out woman like me enjoy such pleasure, especially when my master, my husband is also so old?” Amen
There are times when we come to accept our unfortunate circumstances as FATE. We become rather comfortable to live with those setbacks than to nurture any hopes in Christ for brighter days ahead.
Sarah had a word from God when she was most advanced in years. SHE WAS GOING TO BE A MOTHER! But it sounded more like a tease to her. Not only was she too old to go through the process of the promise, she didn’t have any pleasure in it anymore. HOWEVER, GOD IS NEVER JOKING! What He says, is what He will do. His words never return to Him void.
Have you been jobless for several months or years now? Have doctors diagnosed a life-threatening disease in you? Are you worried about the future because you are a widow or an orphan? Cheer up, Child of God! Our Father will always keep His promise to you and nothing can prevent it. He is not a man that He should lie, nor the son of man that He should repent.
Beloved, meditate on this word and begin to pray. Don’t fret, don’t lose heart, do not curse God and die. Rather, cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you. Hold on to His promises, for they never fail.
God definitely has plans for you. Good plans; to give you hope, and bring you to an expected end. Expect a touch from God wherever you find yourself right now. He will come through for you if you just believe. Whenever your circumstance makes you question whether God’s promises will ever happen in your life or not, go back to the Word. Meditate on it day and night, till every sentence from Genesis to Revelation reminds you that ‘FAITHFUL IS THE LORD WE SERVE!’
IT WILL HAPPEN. ALL OF WHAT GOD HAS SAID ABOUT YOU WILL COME TO PASS; BUT ACCORDING TO HIS WORD. THEREFORE KNOW THE WORD AND HOLD ON TO HIM! WITHOUT HIM, NOTHING WAS MADE THAT HAS BEEN MADE. JESUS IS THE WORD.
