Topic: Whose Inscription Is On Your Life?
Text: Mark 12: 16 – 17

16 – And they brought it. And He saith unto them, whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar’s. 17 – And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at Him. Amen!

We are living in a time where it’s almost impossible to differentiate Christians from unbelievers. From the passage above, Jesus made it clear to the Pharisees and Herodians that there is a distinction between the things of God and the secular. Today, almost everything is acceptable in the church and deceit is gradually creeping into the body of Christ.

If we are Christians, it must necessarily reflect in every aspect of our lives. We bear the image and superscription of God on our lives. We cannot afford to live our lives the way we want it. We cannot go every place we desire, wear anything “they” call fashionable and trendy, speak the same way unbelievers speak or even work the way they do.

According to the scriptures, “those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh and its passions and desires” (Gal 5: 24). We are supposed to influence the world and not the other way around.

How is it even possible to bear two different images at the same time? Obviously one of them will be more paramount in our lives.

So tell God’s children everywhere you go that, people look up to us as the reflection of the God they cannot see. Our lifestyle influences them either positively or negatively. Let us be bold therefore and defend the inscription of God on our lives.

Paul wrote to Timothy, saying to him that “nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from iniquity.” (2 Tim 2: 19). Amazing!

Are you tired therefore of the double standards in your life? Then begin to pray. Tell Jesus to grant you a heart sensitive only to Him and not the world or the things it offers. For “the world and its desires passes away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”(1 John 2: 17).

Receive strength and grace to live in the manner that reflects the image and inscription of God on His children. All those who claim to be living by the Spirit, must necessarily follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of their lives (Gal 5: 25). No other way of life is ever acceptable.
